I just wrapped up a passion project I built in a basically a single day: Blutag, an AI-powered alt text generator for Bluesky.

It's open source on Github.

Blutag focuses on accessibility while respecting privacy. Your images stay private: I don't track anything and the pictures are deleted after your browser session ends.

Some features I’m particularly proud of:

• Drag-and-drop reorder of pictures
• Full ATProto feature consistency, including facets (rich text annotations with byte offsets)
• AI-powered alt text suggestions to make Bluesky posts more inclusive

It’s amazing what a day of tinkering can produce! If you care about accessibility, privacy, or just love playing with AI + social tech, give it a spin and let me know what you think.
