This is what happens when I have excess energy I can funnel into running...
Lángoló Gitárok reported that the girl-only four-piece Norwegian rock band Katzenjammer will perform live tomorrow on the A38 ship. They sound incredibly powerful and unique with all the exotic instruments and uptempo rhythm.
I won't be in Budapest, but if I were I'd sure go. Also, it's free.
Say there was a situation with two choices. One would be to remain in a state of low satisfaction but also limited suffering, a safe bet. However, as a second option, one could go for the ultimate prize as well. The drawback? Doing so a good chance of a total fiasco would also arise. Would you risk everything to gain everything?
Due to the nature of the conundrum the value of uncertainty factor on all input data is inherently high.
The previously mentioned 27 June gig at Tündérgyár will actually be Khuda's with support from Rosa Parks and The Ills. Khuda is a two-piece instrumental post-rock band from the UK. Their latest album came out only this month, titled Iecava. The second track from the new LP is free to listen to on their site.
Previous albums are also available on Bandcamp. Alternatively, check out the great pulsing rhythm and buildup of Tallin here.

As a very nice birthday surprise I got a paddock pass from a friend to the Sunday WTCC race at Hungaroring. This was the first time ever the touring car championship came to Hungary.
When we arrived the first Trofeo Maserati race was going on, resulting in the victory of the local driver Norbert Kiss.
There was also a race for AutoGP cars, which proved to be way too fast to photograph and also incredibly loud. Not being familiar with the series I had to look it up: AutoGP is the successor of the Euroseries 3000 or Euro Formula 3000, using engines roughly the same power as GP2, formerly Formula 3000. TL;DR: it's one size smaller than F1.
The big attractions were of course the WTCC races themselves. The Zengő-Dension team was well prepared: for the people at the finish line seats they handed out posters of the car with backs matching the Hungarian national colors. We were asked to hold these up to form a giant flag whenever Norbert Michelisz, the Hungarian driver, passed. With the grandstand full the atmosphere was fantastic.
To much ovation Norbert ended up coming in 2nd in the first race. In the subsequent one, however, a too ambitious first corner landed him off track with the car's nose wrecked beyond hope, only to be saved by the torrential rain which caused the race to be suspended. Boosted by the continuous encouragement coming from the stands the crew managed to put the car together with heroic effort. Michelisz risked rejoining on slick tires enabling him to run the fastest lap of the afternoon even with his car barely being held together by duct tape.
Most of my pictures ended up blurred or showing half cars or an empty track. The semi-decent ones are on Flickr.
Yesterday I bought a soft toy rat at IKEA, a black one. Rats are cool.
It's weird having this constant thought - much like an unkillable mosquito circling around one's head at night - underlying my every decision, reorganizing my priorities, setting my mood. It comes in waves, sometimes flooding everything, other times just quietly lingering in the back of my head, nevertheless omnipresent.
Reciprocation would have been better.
Rosa Parks is a Hungarian post-rock band from Győr. I wouldn't go into rating the music here, biased as I am. Anyway, both their albums are downloadable - song by song - from Last.fm for free. I attached 0110 from Black Is The Color Of Bondage, Blue Is The Past as a sample. They have a tour blog as well, with live videos. Next they will perform at Tündérgyár, 27 June.

Just above our flat there is a rooftop garden. After the building was finished (and the flats sold) no one really cared about matching the early visualizations, so only some sempervivums were planted as an alibi. Nature's been gradually taking over since then: this time of the year it's poppies.
Google unrolled the +1 button for websites to embed. It's pretty easy to implement using the webmaster page.
Think of it as a like button for websites: if you find something cool you can recommend it to your friends who may receive these via their search results, personalizing their searches. More information in the explanation video.
Even though it's located on the right sidebar it works on a per address basis: subpages - such as standalone posts - can be plus-oned independently. Additionally, it seems to have none of the horrid performance issues of the Facebook like button.
+1 if you like :]
